Pirin Golf & Country Club - Bansko, Razlog : tree planting programme

Pirin Golf & Country Club tree planting programme has been recently started with planting of more then 800 trees (birch and pine) along its northern fence. The programme has been already named "The Pirin Golf Green Wall". English and Irish golf experts shared the view that the golf infrastructure at Pirin Golf is excellent and the 18-hole Woosnam golf course may host large international golf events when completed. However , the mushrooming buildings close to its fence were assessed as spoiling the excellent backdrop of Rila mountain and measures were taken to create a more natural green look around the fairways.
"The Pirin Golf Green Wall". will consist of varied vegetation including birch, pine trees and bushes planted in 3 rows within 3-4 meters depth from the northern fence. In 4-5 years time the "Green Wall" will be forming a beautiful natural screen - 10-15 m. high, which will separate the golf course from the outer spaces, behind the fence of Pirin Golf & Country Club. The area marked with red on the photos taken in April 2008 , shows the first trees planted recently.

The tree planting and replanting programme will be extended in 2008 and 2009.
