The first golf event was opened officially by the President of Pirin Golf & Country Club , Mr. Kaloyanov . Members of the golf design team, the Developer, the Pirin Golf Manager , owners of properties, officials and golfers were present. After the ceremony refreshments were served and all who were willing to test the driving range and the new fairways teed off in the fantastic backdrop of Pirin mountain. A couple of Pirin Golf property owners from the United Kingdom, Ireland and other countries who succeeded to make the short notice trip took part in the event as well. The event has significance for at least 3 reasons: 1. It kicked - off golf in Bansko Razlog ski resort area , adding new quality feature to this wonderful piece of Bulgarian land, 2. The tournament marks the beginning of a process, which will put in a couple of years Bulgaria on the European golf map with new, quality golf courses built in both the ski resorts and on the Black sea coast, 3. Bulgaria becomes the first "new" Europe country to offer quality, signature golf resorts on the golf holiday map of Europe. Pirin Golf & Country Club has not entered into any agreement whatsoever with any developer, building in Bansko Razlog area around the private (gated) resort or in the town of Bansko for any joint use or free access to its facilities on a "pay and play" or other basis. Any statements made by officials from companies , selling property outside the golf complex , recently quoted in some forums of property owners (for instance www.eyeonworldwide.com etc.) regarding "free access to the golf" or "property with golf included" have NO LEGAL POWER and are strongly misleading .
