Bansko property news : 23 July 2007
Bansko municipality announced an open tender for construction of main sewage collector VI up to Han Asparouch str. valued at 483 333 BGN.
It is part of the municipal plans for rehabilitation and improvement of the town infrastructure, which is to some estimates put under pressure by new property developments and hotel construction. International experts confirmed that rapid development in new resorts has to be dealt with an utmost care.
After the announcement that Yulen Jsc, who operate the skiing infrastructure in Bansko had approved a 4 mln. EUR programme for Bansko ski zone improvement and expansion plans with ECOSIGN – the developers of the 2014 Olympic Games site in Sochi (Russia) hopes are high among Bansko property owners that after the snowless season of 2006/2007 in the Alps, which lead to unexpected cancellations of Bansko ski holidays things will substantially improve in the coming 2007/2008 season. Bansko property owners who rely on rental for higher return on investment met the news with relief.
Ski fans from Britain remember that due to the cancellation frenzy and climate change hype many missed excellent skiing in Bansko where, in February and March 2007 there was 2 m. of snow on the slopes and the ski runs were literally empty.
Badly managed marketing of Bansko is still a problem, but it is expected that Bansko property owners and developers will do more in this regard to protect their investments.
