Bansko town centre: - an old house, now traditional restaurant
It is this type of local restaurants , called "mehana" that offer Bansko gourmet specialities like "sach", "Banska kapama" etc. seasoned by mountain wild herbs . Those places make every visit to Bansko a challenge for one's weight, unless sports are practiced. Our advice - take a good walk arround after visiting one of the mehanas.
A decent three course meal will cost 15-30 Leva ( 7 - 15 pounds) , quality local wine will be served for 5 pounds a bottle , and lager is still below 90 p.
