The place - Borovets was until recently the most famous Bulgarian ski resort, situated on the slopes of Rila Mountain at 1350 m. above sea level. An hour ride (72 km) from capital Sofia international airport , Borovets is the most easily accessible Bulgarian ski resort. The average temperature in January drops to - 4.6 °C and the ski slopes have permanent snow cover of 60 — 250 cm for 5 months. Borovets was developed into a modern ski resort with hotels, restaurants, shops and a wide choice of night entertainment.
Skiing - The resort hosted twice World Cup Championship competitions in slalom and giant slalom. 45 kilometers of ski pistes are grouped in three close interlinked locations with the highest starting at 2600 m. Ski runs for beginners and advanced skiers are well maintained.
