The place -   Pamporovo nests in the heart of the Rhodopa mountains, at an altitude of 1650 m (4900 feet). It is 260 km from the capital Sofia, and 85 km south of the city of Plovdiv. The new Bulgarian - Greek border check point (40 km away) links Pamporovo to the Greek Aegean coast in a 1-2 hour ride.  In March - April one may enjoy skiing in the morning and sea bath in the afternoon –there’s no other matching offer in Europe. 

Skiing - Snow lays on the slopes 120 days on average, normally 70-180 cm. thick. Temperatures never fell below – 7 C. It is the sunniest Bulgarian ski resort where weather does not change abruptly. 20 km. of maintained ski pistes are recommended both for beginners and experienced skiers.

Pamporovo ski property  is rapidly closing the popularity gap with Bansko. New-build and off-plan apartments and chalets as well as old houses in the nearby villages are the most common offers.  In 2005, the resort was given the status of National tourist destination, which requires nature to be preserved intact and future off-plan developments may be reduced in number. 

Capital appreciation will be high over the coming years with prices currently starting from EUR 35000 (22000 GBP) for a studio in a new off-plan development. Projections for property prices in Pamporovo and the nearby villages providing  chalets are positive – offers are limited by number and experts expect 45-55% price hike till 2007-2008. Rental income from new-build apartments in the resort is guaranteed.  

The small Rhodopa mountain town of Chepelare is less known as a ski resort. The home town of some of the best Bulgarian winter sportsman has developed and maintains to high standards the longest downhill ski piste in Bulgaria. Chepelare is only 15 km. from
