I. CLIMATE

The climate in Bulgaria is moderate continental, with some influence from the Mediterranean in the south. The climate at the seaside is milder in winter and cooler in summer. Average summer temperatures rarely exceed 32°C.
Bulgaria enjoys generally favourable climatic conditions, marked by four distinct seasons. Summers are typically hot and dry with moderate relative humidity. Winters are colder than in Great Britain but with more sunlight on average.
In the south and in the Black Sea coastal area, the Mediterranean influence tempers the colder air coming from continental Europe or from the north-east (the Russian steppes).
Bulgaria’s mountains play a significant role in determining local differences in climate.   ________________________
This table compares April-October temperatures in Bulgaria with those in other European countries
Average temperatures in Bulgaria are much closer to those in France, Italy and Spain than to those in the United
Kingdom.  This fact, coupled with the high average number of sunny days (between 290 and 329 a year), explains in part why it was recently named the new "place in the sun".
The high mountains in Bulgaria (highest in the Balkan peninsula - up to 8900ft or 2925m above sea level) provide conditions for snow retention of 4-5 months and so a longer skiing season. Snow cover is normally between 35 and 250 cm.  ____________________

II. PRICES

Prices in Bulgaria are low by Western standards; the table shows the average price levels in Bulgaria compared to European Union countries. Property price in Bulgaria follows the same pattern.

Price level comparison shows that, on average, prices in Bulgaria are 2.5 to 3 times lower than in Spain, Italy, Britain or Ireland. They are indicative both for costs of acquisition and for growth potential in the medium and long term. Consumer price indices may differ.
A random sample taken from property web-sites shows very similar differences.
