The 2016 trade shows are in the past now. What’s left is a longing for what 2017 will bring. After quite an eventful year, you probably want to know what you should be looking out for in cycling as we approach 2017. Read on; here are some bike production and design trends you should know about for the coming year.
Expect gravel bikes to gain even more popularity
Gravel bikes are quite popular these days. Our crystal ball tells us that they will become even more popular in 2017. Distributors like The Racery will have to increase their gravel bikes stock to keep up.
Big offline bike brands will lose their fight with online retailers
It is a little sad that big offline brands are yet to realize that their fight against online retailers will only end one way; with the online stores winning. Just like you can’t fight technology, it is pointless for these offline brands to try and slow down the growth of online bike stores. That said, the offline brands are offering never seen before discounts in an effort to take the market back from the hands of online bike distributors.
Alloy will make quite the comeback
More bike production companies are going back to making alloy bike frames. What’s more, a number of these manufacturers are making alloy frames even for the high-end customers that would typically go for titanium or carbon frames. With new technologies now available to these bike makers, expect the alloy frames to make a notable comeback in 2017.
